Three individuals, including a couple, were arrested by the Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar for allegedly charging Rs 200 for application forms related to the Subhadra Yojana, a government initiative aimed at empowering women. The couple, Sasmita and Ranjit Jena, operated a Jana Seva Kendra and were apprehended following complaints that they demanded money from applicants. Additionally, Ratikanta Sahu, an employee at another Jana Seva Kendra, was arrested for selling application forms without authorization. The forms are supposed to be provided free of charge. All three have been charged under various sections of the BNS law and have been forwarded to court. Investigations into these incidents are ongoing, and officials have urged the public to report any similar malpractices.
