Smokey Robinson, John Fogerty Honored at American Music Honors April 26

The Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music will honor Smokey Robinson, John Fogerty, Emmylou Harris, Tom Morello, and Joe Ely at its third annual American Music Honors on April 26, 2025, at Monmouth University in New Jersey. The event will be hosted by journalist Brian Williams, with Stevie Van Zandt's Disciples of Soul serving as the house band. Robert Santelli, the center's founding executive director, noted that the honorees represent a cross-section of American music, including rock, Americana, soul, and country. Award presentations will include Bruce Springsteen for Fogerty and Ely, Steven Van Zandt for Robinson, Patti Scialfa for Harris, and Nils Lofgren for Morello. Tickets will go on sale on March 25, with a strong emphasis on celebrating the artists' contributions to American music culture. Monmouth University President Dr. Patrick Leahy expressed pride in hosting the event, emphasizing its significance in New Jersey's music scene.
