Authorities Seize Millions in Illegal Cigarettes, Vapes Across UK, Ireland, Singapore

Authorities across multiple regions have intensified efforts against the illegal trade and use of e-vaporisers, cigarettes, and related tobacco products. In Singapore, over 17,900 individuals were caught for possession or use of e-vaporisers between January 2024 and March 2025, with authorities seizing more than $41 million worth of products and dismantling major smuggling syndicates. Similarly, in Ireland, nearly 10 million illicit cigarettes valued at €8.9 million were seized from a container originating from the Netherlands, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat illegal tobacco importation. In Lancashire, UK, police and Trading Standards seized illegal cigarettes and vapes worth approximately £62,000 from shops during coordinated raids, emphasizing community safety and enforcement collaboration. Additionally, West Midlands Police in Coventry confiscated up to £10,000 worth of illegal vaping products, counterfeit tobacco, and prescription drugs following a van search. These coordinated crackdowns reflect a broader crackdown on smuggling and illicit sales of tobacco and vaping products, with authorities encouraging public reporting to further disrupt illegal activities.
