Bus-Truck Collision Near Escárcega Kills 41

A tragic traffic accident in southern Mexico resulted in the death of 41 people when a bus collided with a truck in the early hours of Saturday near Escárcega. The bus, carrying 48 passengers on a journey from Cancun to Tabasco, was completely engulfed in flames after the collision, leaving only the metal frame behind. Among the deceased were 38 passengers and the drivers of both the bus and truck. Recovery efforts are ongoing, with only 18 skulls confirmed so far, according to local security sources. The bus operator, Tours Acosta, expressed its condolences and is cooperating with authorities to determine the cause of the accident, asserting that the bus was within speed limits. Local officials, including Comalcalco's mayor, have pledged support to federal and state authorities handling the aftermath.
