Otherlab Launches Solar-Powered Lightfoot Scooter

Otherlab has launched the Lightfoot, a solar-powered electric scooter that can extend its range using two solar panels, providing an additional three miles of range for every hour it charges in the sun. The scooter has a top speed of nearly 20 mph and a range of up to 37 miles on a full charge, with the solar panels potentially adding up to 20 miles of extra distance in favorable conditions. Priced at $4,995, preorders are now open, with deliveries expected by January 2025. The Lightfoot also features a lockable cargo compartment comparable to a carry-on suitcase, accommodating around 33 lbs of cargo. Built from aircraft-grade aluminum and designed for low maintenance, it aims to blend practicality with sustainability. Otherlab promotes the scooter as suitable for both urban commuting and leisure use, emphasizing its renewable energy capabilities.
