Three Arrested in Armed Robbery of USPS Worker

In Harvey, Illinois, three individuals were taken into custody following the armed robbery of a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. on the 15800 block of South Halsted Street, where a male suspect, armed with a handgun featuring a drum magazine, demanded money and stole two bins of packages and a backpack from the carrier. U.S. Postal inspectors, who were notified of the incident, soon heard gunshots in the vicinity and pursued three people to a residence on East 157th Place. With the assistance of Harvey police, inspectors detained the suspects, recovered the stolen mail, and seized two firearms. The suspects were taken to the Harvey Police Department, although their identities and charges remain undisclosed as the investigation continues. Authorities have not reported any injuries from the incident.
