A three-storey building, known as the Harmilap Building, collapsed in Lucknow's Transport Nagar area on Saturday around 4:45 pm, resulting in at least eight fatalities and 28 injuries. The building, used as a warehouse for various goods, including pharmaceuticals, had ongoing construction work in its basement at the time of the collapse. Rescue efforts, involving teams from the NDRF, SDRF, fire department, and police, are actively underway, with drones being used to locate trapped individuals. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to expedite relief operations and ensure proper medical care for the injured. The collapse has raised concerns about the building's structural integrity, as a crack in a pillar was noticed before the incident. Identification of some deceased individuals includes Raj Kishore, Rudra Yadav, Jagrup Singh, Pankaj Tiwari, Dheeraj Gupta, Arun Sonkar, and Jasmeet Sahani, the building owner's son.
