Miami man attacks homeless people, kills two
Brenton Clarke, a 36-year-old man from Inwood, New York, has been arrested for the brutal attack on homeless individuals in downtown Miami that left two dead and two injured. The assaults occurred early Thursday morning, with Clarke allegedly using a wooden stick to strike the victims, who were sleeping on the sidewalk. Miami Police Chief Manny Morales stated that Clarke first attacked one individual before moving on to a couple and then returning to attack another man, ultimately stealing belongings from one of the victims. Clarke was apprehended shortly after the incidents, and he faces multiple charges including two counts of first-degree murder and armed robbery. The motive for the attacks remains unclear, as Clarke declined to speak with detectives. The surviving victims are currently receiving medical treatment, with one in critical condition and the other stable.
