Twins Activate Royce Lewis From Injured List After Hamstring Strain
The Minnesota Twins have reinstated third baseman Royce Lewis from the injured list after a 15-game absence due to a recurring left hamstring strain. Lewis, the first overall pick in the 2017 draft, has struggled with multiple injuries since his 2022 MLB debut, including two ACL tears and various strains, which have limited him to only 182 games. This season, he has appeared in 30 games and is batting .202 with a .585 OPS, though he showed promise with a strong performance in ten June contests before the latest injury. Despite his struggles, the Twins have an 18-12 record in games he has played this year, compared to 22-32 without him. To make roster space for Lewis, the Twins designated infielder Jonah Bride for assignment. The team is currently in third place in the American League Central and four games behind the final wild-card spot.
