Toyota Speeds Up Arizona Proving Grounds Expansion

Toyota Motor North America has announced a $50 million investment to expand its Arizona Proving Grounds near Wittmann, Arizona, with most construction now expected to finish by the end of this year. The expansion features a new 5.5-mile oval track, an off-road park, enhanced ride and handling surfaces, and plans for a future advanced driver assistance technology facility. The Arizona Mobility Test Center at Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds, open to the automotive industry since 2021, covers 11,650 acres and is managed by Intertek Transportation Technologies. The facility has hosted 37 organizations, nearly 286 test vehicles, and has tested more than 50 Toyota and Lexus vehicles since its opening. State officials have praised the investment for boosting Arizona’s economic growth and automotive innovation. Toyota emphasizes the site's importance for testing and developing its North American vehicle lineup and advancing automotive technology.
