Duke's Cooper Flagg Wins ACC Player, Rookie of the Year Honors

Duke freshman Cooper Flagg has been named both the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, solidifying his status as one of the top players in college basketball. Flagg's remarkable season includes leading the Blue Devils in every major statistical category and setting a rookie record with 42 points in a game against Notre Dame. He was also recognized for his defensive prowess, earning a spot on the All-Defensive team, and his teammate Kon Knueppel was named to the All-ACC second team. Coach of the Year honors went to Louisville’s Pat Kelsey, while Chucky Hepburn of Louisville received the Defensive Player of the Year award. Flagg's consistent performance has prompted discussions about renaming the ACC Rookie of the Week award in his honor, as he has set a record with 12 weekly accolades.
