Billy Wagner Joins 2025 Hall of Fame Class

Billy Wagner, the former Houston Astros closer, has been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in his final year of eligibility, receiving 82.5% of the vote from the Baseball Writers Association of America. Wagner, known for his impressive ERA of 2.31 and 422 career saves, joins Ichiro Suzuki and CC Sabathia as part of the 2025 Hall of Fame class. This marks Wagner as the third Astros player to enter the Hall, following Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell. Notably, Ichiro Suzuki missed a unanimous selection by just one vote. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for July 27, 2025, in Cooperstown. Dick Allen and Dave Parker were also elected via the Classic Baseball Era Committee.
