Santo Tequila Trucks Stolen in Organized Heist

Celebrity chef Guy Fieri and rock star Sammy Hagar's tequila brand, Santo Spirits, suffered a significant setback when two trucks carrying $1 million worth of their tequila were hijacked in Laredo, Texas, on November 9. The stolen shipment included 24,240 bottles of tequila, featuring Santo Blanco, Reposado, and a rare Extra Añejo, which took 39 months to produce. The heist is suspected to be part of an organized crime operation, with the thieves using a GPS emulator to mislead authorities and illegally double-brokering the cargo. This incident has disrupted Santo's supply chain, causing a potential shortage during the critical holiday sales period, which accounts for 35% of their annual sales. Authorities, including the Laredo Police Department and CargoNet, are investigating the theft, and Fieri has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of the stolen tequila. Despite the setback, Santo Spirits is working around the clock to replenish stocks, though full recovery before the holiday season remains uncertain.
