Ohio Communities Report Multiple Recent Deaths
Jenny Bajgier of Boardman died September 18, 2025, just shy of her 95th birthday; she was a longtime cardiovascular nurse at St. Elizabeth Youngstown, a devout Catholic, poet and devoted family member who treasured friendships and community support. Debra Dee Ludwig, 69, of Columbiana died September 17, 2025, at the Hospice House and is remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, reunited in death with her husband George Alvin Ludwig. Barbara E. Harris, 87, of Newton Falls died September 17, 2025, at her granddaughter’s home; a 35-year General Electric retiree and founding member of the Leavittsburg Church of God, she is survived by daughters and grandchildren, with a memorial service to be announced and a television tribute scheduled. Suzanne Kachurek, 75, of Austintown died September 19, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Health Center; a former Sears employee and 30-year Ohio Turnpike toll collector, she is remembered for her love of family, cooking and holiday traditions and will be honored at services on September 26 with a request that acts of kindness be performed in her memory. Tammy Kay Metzgar, 65, of Salem died September 15, 2025, at home; a United Local High School graduate, twice president of the Ladies of the Nobles and active volunteer, she is remembered for gardening, cooking and community service and is survived by her husband, daughters and a grandson.
