Phillies Reinstate Harper and Schwarber for Dodgers Series

Harper, who was recovering from a hamstring strain, and Schwarber, from a groin strain, both sustained their injuries during a game on June 27. Despite their absence, the Phillies managed a 5-4 record but scored fewer runs and struggled offensively. Harper, an MVP candidate with a .303 average and 20 homers, and Schwarber, with 17 homers and a .250 average, are expected to significantly boost the team's lineup. The Phillies currently hold a 7.5-game lead over the Atlanta Braves in the NL East. To make room for Harper and Schwarber, the Phillies designated outfielder David Dahl for assignment and optioned infielder Kody Clemens to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
