Huangmao Sea Channel Bridge Opens December 11

The Huangmao Sea Channel Bridge, a significant infrastructure project in South China's Guangdong Province, is set to open to traffic on December 11, 2024, after four and a half years of construction. This 31-kilometer bridge will connect Zhuhai and Jiangmen, reducing travel time from over an hour to approximately 30 minutes. Equipped with a dual carriageway and designed for speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour, the bridge features two tunnels and multiple interchanges. Initially, there will be no toll fees for users, with details on future charges to be announced later. This project is part of a broader initiative to enhance transportation within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, aligning with efforts to create a world-class transportation hub. The Huangmao Sea Channel Bridge is notable for being the world's largest three-tower cable-stayed highway bridge, showcasing several technological innovations.
