Texas Man Arrested for Allegedly Holding Woman Captive Six Months

Kenneth Leon Wright, 41, was arrested in Houston for allegedly holding a woman he was dating captive in his home for at least six months. Court documents reveal that Wright confined the woman in a residence with windows nailed shut and doors locked from the outside, preventing her escape, while also subjecting her to abuse. The victim's sister, Shenita Carter, said Wright only occasionally allowed visits and refused to disclose the woman's location, prompting their mother to locate the home and request a police welfare check after receiving an abuse report from the victim. Upon arrival, Carter described the apartment's conditions as deplorable, emphasizing the locked door and nailed windows. Wright's current girlfriend contested the allegations, claiming he was caring for the woman and not detaining her against her will. Authorities charged Wright with aggravated kidnapping and assault family violence, while the victim is now with her family and receiving support to recover.
