St. Charles Woman Charged Attempted Murder After Multiple Stabbing
Sandy Underwood, 39, of St. Charles, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, multiple counts of aggravated battery, and domestic battery after allegedly stabbing another woman multiple times on the evening of July 29. Police responded to an apartment building on Walnut Drive around 7:50 p.m., where Underwood admitted to the stabbing and was detained at the scene. The victim, suffering from several stab wounds, was initially treated at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva before being airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center due to the severity of her injuries. Underwood was taken to the Kane County Jail and is being held pending a detention hearing, with her next court date scheduled for August 11. The motive for the stabbing remains unclear, and authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the St. Charles Police Department. The most serious charge could result in life imprisonment or up to 60 years if convicted.
