Jason Bateman: Matt Damon Pitched Role in Arrested Development Film

Jason Bateman recently shared on the 'Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend' podcast that Matt Damon expressed interest in playing his character, Michael Bluth, in a potential film adaptation of 'Arrested Development.' Damon approached Bateman at an awards event, revealing his enthusiasm for the show and suggesting he could portray Bateman's character in a movie about the Bluth family, as envisioned by creator Mitchell Hurwitz. The narrative would feature Bateman's character watching Damon play him on set, which Bateman found amusing but ultimately doubted would materialize, stating he feels there is little interest in such a project. Despite the nostalgia for the series, which aired from 2003 to 2019, Bateman concluded, 'I don’t think anybody gives a s***. I think it’s done.' While the idea generated some excitement, Bateman remains skeptical about the film's prospects.
