Woman Killed, Man Shot in Queensland Crime Spree

A 22-year-old woman died and her companion was seriously injured after a red Porsche Macan crashed on the Bruce Highway near Palmview, Queensland. The 41-year-old male Porsche driver from Tewantin, allegedly armed with a gun, exited the vehicle, shot the driver of a white SsangYong Rexton in the arm, and stole the Rexton to flee. After crashing the Rexton in Landsborough, the suspect allegedly carjacked a grey Mazda 3 from a family during a driving lesson before police arrested him near Steve Irwin Way. The firearm used in the shooting was recovered from the Mazda. Police have declared three separate crime scenes and confirmed the Porsche was not stolen. The suspect remains under guard in hospital and is expected to face serious charges.
