He noted that social media responses included numerous vomit emojis, indicating discontent among viewers about his character's love interest with Dr. Meredith Grey. Despite this, Speedman expressed amusement at the passionate fanbase, remarking on how seriously they take character relationships. He also highlighted the commitment to accuracy in surgical scenes, sharing a humorous anecdote about a crew member who corrects him by hitting his hand during filming. Speedman’s character has transitioned to a recurring role in the recently premiered 21st season, and he enjoys the camaraderie on set.
