Canton Man Sentenced to 29 Years for Murder

Sean Goe, a 27-year-old Canton man, was sentenced to 29 years to life for the brutal murder of his girlfriend, Raychel Sheridan, 24. Judge Frank Forchione described the crime as 'appalling' and noted the extreme violence involved, including the use of a hammer to inflict fatal injuries. Sheridan's body was discovered in a trash can at Mother Goose Land park after she was reported missing on July 2, 2024. Goe was convicted of multiple charges, including murder, felonious assault, and gross abuse of a corpse, following a jury trial. Prosecutors highlighted the case's brutality, with Forchione stating it was the most savage murder he had encountered in his 17 years on the bench. Goe's arrest came after evidence indicated foul play in their apartment, leading to a swift investigation by local authorities.
