Walter Clayton Jr. Named 2025 SEC Male Athlete of Year

Walter Clayton Jr. has been named the Southeastern Conference's Roy F. Kramer Male Athlete of the Year for 2025, marking the first time a Florida Gators men's basketball player has earned this prestigious honor. Clayton Jr. led the Gators to their third national championship with a record-breaking 713 points in the season and earned multiple accolades including NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player, SEC Tournament MVP, and first-team All-American honors. His standout performances, including back-to-back 30-point games in the NCAA Tournament, culminated in his selection as the 18th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz. This accolade continues Florida's recent dominance in the SEC Athlete of the Year awards, with the Gators having the most male and female winners in the conference. Clayton Jr. also set program records, including 62 consecutive games with a 3-pointer made, and ranks among Florida's all-time scoring leaders.
