DUI Suspect Arrested After Car Plunges Off Bay Area Parking Garage
Early Sunday morning, a driver suspected of DUI crashed their vehicle off the second story of a parking garage in downtown Pleasant Hill, landing vertically near the garage entrance without causing serious injuries. Pleasant Hill Police responded to the crash around 4 a.m., arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence, and towed the vehicle. The crash caused significant damage to the garage, including the entrance sign and portions of the second-floor railing. Authorities emphasized the luck involved in avoiding serious injuries and urged the public to designate sober drivers or use ride-hailing services when consuming alcohol. The identity of the driver has not been released, and it remains unclear if there were any passengers involved. Police continue to advocate strongly against drinking and driving to prevent similar incidents.
