Lions Beat Bengals 37-24; Tie Team Scoring Mark
The Detroit Lions defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 37-24 in Cincinnati for their fourth straight win, improving to 4-1. Jared Goff was 19-for-23 for 258 yards and three touchdowns, while David Montgomery rushed for a score and threw a touchdown on a wildcat trick play; Jahmyr Gibbs also scored and Amon-Ra St. Brown had 100 receiving yards. Detroit’s defense produced three interceptions (Amik Robertson, Kerby Joseph, Alex Anzalone), five tackles for loss, two sacks and Derrick Barnes forced a late safety. Bengals quarterback Jake Browning, filling in for an injured Joe Burrow, threw three touchdowns and three interceptions. The Lions held off a late three-touchdown Cincinnati rally and will travel to face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football next week.
