Apple Introduces Featuring Nominations for Developers

Apple has launched a new feature called 'Featuring Nominations' within App Store Connect, allowing developers to actively nominate their apps for promotion on the App Store. Previously, app featuring was solely at the discretion of Apple's editorial team, but this initiative provides a structured way for developers to increase visibility for their apps, updates, and new content. Developers can submit nominations for three types of updates: new content, app enhancements, and new app launches, using a dedicated dashboard that accommodates both individual and bulk submissions. Once a nomination is approved, developers will receive notifications and can access marketing assets to promote their featured apps. This change aims to democratize access to app visibility on the App Store and enhance transparency in the selection process. By enabling developers to participate in the process, Apple is likely to boost engagement and downloads for a wider array of applications.
