Man Arrested After Car Theft in Belfast

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in Dundalk after allegedly stealing a car from South Belfast with a female passenger still inside. The incident occurred on September 28, when the vehicle was taken from the Botanic Avenue area, leading to a high-speed chase on the A1 where the car was observed exceeding 100 mph. The female passenger managed to escape unharmed but was left shaken by the experience. Police from Northern Ireland (PSNI) collaborated with An Garda Síochána (AGS) to locate the vehicle, which was seized for technical examination. The suspect is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, as investigations continue. Thankfully, no casualties resulted from this dangerous incident.
