Charlotte native Carson Clough won a silver medal in the men's PTS4 para triathlon at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, finishing the race in 1:00:47, just 2:46 behind the gold medalist. Clough, who lost his right leg in a boating accident in 2022, has risen to become a top competitor in the sport, ranking second in the World Triathlon Qualification Ranking. Welsh para-table tennis player Paul Karabardak also made history by winning a bronze medal in men's doubles alongside Billy Shilton, despite losing in the semi-finals. Fin Graham, a para-cyclist, earned silver in the C3 3,000m individual pursuit, becoming the first Scot to medal at these Games, while expressing pride in competing alongside teammate Jaco Van Gass. Both Graham and Karabardak have opportunities for further medals in upcoming events. The atmosphere at the Games has been noted as special and supportive by the athletes, enhancing their experiences.
