Torri Huske Wins Gold in 100m Butterfly
American swimmer Torri Huske clinched her first Olympic gold in the women's 100-meter butterfly at the Paris Olympics, finishing in 55.59 seconds. She narrowly beat teammate and world record holder Gretchen Walsh, who took silver with a time of 55.63 seconds. Walsh had set a new Olympic record in the semifinals with a time of 55.38 seconds. This victory marks the first time since 1984 that the U.S. has secured both gold and silver in this event. China's Zhang Yufei earned the bronze with a time of 56.21 seconds. Both Huske and Walsh also won silver in the women's 4x100-meter relay along with Kate Douglass and Simone Manuel.
