Alan Pulido Transferred to Chivas Guadalajara

Sporting Kansas City has officially transferred forward Alan Pulido to Liga MX club Chivas Guadalajara for an undisclosed fee, marking the end of his five-season tenure with the MLS team. Pulido, who was the most expensive signing in Sporting KC's history at $9.5 million, scored 38 goals and provided 19 assists across 108 matches. Despite a promising start and significant contributions, including playoff appearances in 2020, 2021, and 2023, injuries hampered his performance, particularly in 2022 when he missed the entire season. After returning from injury in 2023 and leading the team with 14 goals, Pulido signed a contract extension, but his performance declined in 2024. The transfer opens up a Designated Player spot for Sporting KC as they prepare for the upcoming 2025 season, starting with a match against Inter Miami CF on February 18. Pulido returns to Chivas after previously playing there from 2016 to 2019, where he won multiple domestic championships and a CONCACAF Champions League title.
