Oakland Township Crash Kills 77-Year-Old Man

Clifford Gilbert Finkle Jr., a 77-year-old man from Bruce Township, died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash over the weekend in Oakland Township, Michigan. Finkle was driving a 1966 Chevrolet eastbound on East Romeo Road when his car left the roadway and struck a tree, requiring him to be extricated and transported to a hospital, where he later died. Authorities believe excessive speed contributed to the crash, but the exact cause remains under investigation, including whether alcohol or drugs were involved. Finkle was wearing a seatbelt, and no other individuals were injured. The Oakland County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the incident. The crash occurred during a period in which Michigan has reported 314 roadway fatalities and 1,549 serious injuries so far this year.
