Concurrently, Michigan State gained its first defensive commit for the 2026 class with the verbal pledge of three-star linebacker Braylon Hodge from Cherry Creek High School in Colorado. Hodge, ranked No. 9 in Colorado and No. 45 nationally at linebacker, picked MSU over multiple Power Five offers following an official visit.
