Four‑alarm Fire Destroys Sugarbush Clubhouse, Pub

A late‑Wednesday fire reported around 10:30 p.m. severely damaged and in parts destroyed the clubhouse and adjacent Hogan’s Pub at Sugarbush Golf Course in Warren, Vermont; resort officials called the damage irreparable and the clubhouse likely a complete loss. The blaze drew a multi‑department response and was fought for hours as a four‑alarm incident; no injuries were reported. Crews saved the majority of outdoor equipment and dozens of golf carts, but most interior contents were lost and portions of the building will need to be taken down; the clubhouse includes historic elements from a farmhouse conversion and sits on a Robert Trent Jones Sr.–designed course. Security footage showed smoke around 10 p.m., and investigators are working to determine the cause and origin. Golf operations are expected to continue while the resort assesses dining and event alternatives, and local road closures and cleanup remain in effect.
