Two Films Chronicle Ozzy Osbourne's Final Days
Two new films — the BBC’s Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home (released Oct. 2) and Paramount+’s Ozzy: No Escape From Now (due Oct. 7) — chronicle Ozzy Osbourne’s final six years and show candid footage of his declining health and family life. They detail a cascade of medical problems after a 2018 fall — a broken neck, subsequent surgeries complicated by loose screws and plates, a 2021 corrective operation, blood clots, sepsis, pneumonia and a later Parkinson’s diagnosis — that left him in chronic pain with severely reduced mobility. Ozzy admits the suffering drove him into depression and suicidal thoughts in 2021 and that he later took antidepressants, while family members including Sharon, Kelly, Jack and Aimee give rare, emotional interviews about watching him deteriorate. Despite his condition he returned to England, staged a farewell Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park in July and died two weeks after the show on July 22, 2025. The Paramount+ and BBC releases — reportedly handled cautiously amid family concerns — present an intimate, often painful portrait of a music legend confronting mortality.
