Turkey, Niger Strengthen Cooperation Across Sectors

Turkey and Niger have agreed to enhance cooperation in energy, mining, intelligence, and defense sectors, following Niger's expulsion of Western military personnel and termination of mining contracts with Western countries. Turkish ministers, including Foreign Minister Fidan and Defence Minister Guler, visited Niger to strengthen ties after the military-led shift in leadership. Discussions focused on defense intelligence, military training, and support for Turkish companies in Niger's oil and gas fields. Turkey reaffirmed its commitment to Africa and emphasized collaboration against terrorism in the Sahel region.
