Flutter Entertainment has announced the acquisition of Snaitech from Playtech for €2.3 billion, aiming to expand its presence in Italy, Europe's largest regulated gambling market. The deal, expected to close by the second quarter of 2025, will give Flutter a 30% share of Italy's online gambling market. This acquisition aligns with Flutter's strategy to strengthen its international footprint, particularly leveraging its strong online platform with Snai's extensive retail presence. Flutter's CEO, Peter Jackson, highlighted the strategic and financial benefits, anticipating at least €70 million in cost synergies. Additionally, Flutter is expanding into Brazil by acquiring a 56% stake in NSX Group for $350 million, further diversifying its global portfolio. The Brazilian acquisition aims to leverage Flutter's pricing and risk management expertise to enhance the local market's offerings.
