Sony Plans PS5 Pro Launch With FSR 4 Support in 2026

Sony has confirmed that its upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro will incorporate AMD's AI upscaling technology, FSR 4, which was co-developed with Sony. The PS5 Pro, priced at $699.99 and set to launch on November 7, 2024, aims to enhance gaming graphics significantly with its new features, including the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). Mark Cerny, PlayStation's lead architect, indicated that the PS5 Pro will utilize a similar upscaling method to FSR 4 for titles released in 2026, improving upon the existing PSSR. This collaboration with AMD is part of a broader initiative called Project Amethyst, aiming to push the boundaries of gaming visuals.
