Colts Sign Former Starter Anthony Walker Jr. to Practice Squad

The Indianapolis Colts have signed linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. to their practice squad, adding depth to a position they aimed to strengthen after finalizing their 53-man roster. Walker, a 2017 fifth-round draft pick by the Colts, was a starter for three seasons and led the team in tackles in 2019 before departing in free agency to play for Cleveland, Miami, and briefly Tampa Bay. At 30 years old, Walker has compiled 581 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and multiple interceptions over 99 games in his career. His return to Indianapolis follows his release from the Buccaneers and comes as the Colts prepare for linebacker Jaylon Carlies to miss the first four games on injured reserve. To accommodate Walker on the practice squad, the Colts released defensive tackle Josh Tupou. This move reflects the Colts' ongoing effort to bolster their linebacker corps and leverage Walker's familiarity with the team and experience.
