Sid Owen, renowned for his role as Ricky Butcher on EastEnders, is returning to acting after eight years to star in the film A Day With An Eating Disorder. The project, written and directed by Lynn Crilly, aims to address the stigma surrounding eating disorders and mental health, inspired by Crilly's personal experiences and her daughter's struggles with these issues. Owen, along with other celebrities participating for free, expressed his enthusiasm for contributing to a meaningful cause, stating, 'Mental health and eating disorders affect lots and lots of people.' The film also features other notable figures such as Jessica Impiazzi and Paul Cooper. Although Owen hinted at keeping in touch with EastEnders and not ruling out a future return, he is focused on his new role and the positive impact of the film.
