Teenager, Accomplice Arrested for Auto Burglaries

A teenager and a known burglar, 27-year-old Robert Sonza, were arrested following a police chase in Oakland linked to multiple auto burglaries at San Francisco tourist spots, including the Palace of Fine Arts and Alamo Square. The San Francisco police, conducting a citywide investigation, initially observed the juvenile committing burglaries and attempted to pursue the suspect vehicle, but lost it due to evasive driving. After a series of sightings and maneuvers, officers tracked the vehicle to Oakland, where it crashed after police deployed a spike strip. Both suspects fled the crash scene but were apprehended shortly after. The juvenile faces charges including burglary and vehicle theft, while Sonza is charged with multiple offenses, including being a felon in possession of a firearm. Authorities noted that several stolen items and burglary tools were recovered from the vehicles involved.
