North Dakota Man Dies in Apparent Drowning on Minnesota Cass Lake
A 41-year-old man from Grafton, North Dakota, died in an apparent drowning incident on Cass Lake while attempting to fix a boat motor. He exited a pontoon without wearing a life jacket and did not resurface. Juveniles on the boat tried to throw him a life jacket as the pontoon drifted due to high winds, and other boaters later intercepted the drifting boat and reported the incident. The man’s body was found in the water roughly two hours after the initial 911 call. An autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the investigation remains ongoing. The victim’s identity has not been released pending family notification.
