Two Killed, Multiple Injuries as EF2 Tornado Strikes Tennessee
An EF2 tornado struck Deer Lodge, Tennessee, on February 6, resulting in the deaths of a mother and daughter, as well as injuries to three others. The National Weather Service confirmed that the tornado had winds reaching up to 135 mph, causing extensive damage including downed trees and powerlines, and ripping roofs off buildings. Additionally, an EF1 tornado was reported in Hart County, Kentucky, earlier that same day. The Morgan County Emergency Management Agency has deployed over 100 personnel to assist in recovery efforts. Local authorities have stated that they believe there will be no further fatalities from the storm, and cleanup efforts are underway in the affected areas. The NWS plans to survey additional damage throughout Kentucky and Tennessee in the coming days.
