The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has summoned former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, his sons Tejashwi and Tej Pratap Yadav, and several others to appear on October 7 in connection with the land-for-job money laundering case. The case alleges that during Lalu's tenure as Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009, he facilitated public employment in exchange for land parcels from candidates, often at below-market rates. Special Judge Vishal Gogne stated that there is prima facie evidence suggesting involvement of the Yadav family in generating proceeds of crime through these transactions. Tej Pratap Yadav has been summoned for the first time, despite not being named in the supplementary chargesheet, due to evidence linking him to the accused activities. The Enforcement Directorate filed the supplementary chargesheet in August, naming 11 individuals in total. The Yadav family has denied the allegations, accusing the BJP of misusing central agencies against them.
