Ryan Wedding Charged in Drug Trafficking Scheme

Ryan Wedding, a former Canadian Olympic snowboarder, is wanted by the FBI on multiple charges, including murder and running a massive cocaine trafficking ring that allegedly moves 60 tons of cocaine annually. The 43-year-old is accused of orchestrating violent crimes, including the murders of two individuals in Canada in November 2023 as retribution for a stolen drug shipment, as well as ordering another murder over an unpaid drug debt. Wedding, who has been living in Mexico under the protection of the Sinaloa Cartel, is considered armed and dangerous, and the FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to his capture. He faces eight felony charges, including conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and leading a continuing criminal enterprise, and is one of 16 defendants indicted in this case. Authorities have seized significant assets from the operation, including over a ton of cocaine and more than $3 million in cryptocurrency. Wedding's criminal history includes a prior conviction in 2010 for conspiracy to distribute cocaine, and he is also facing unresolved drug trafficking charges in Canada dating back to 2015.
