Keir Starmer Criticizes MP Jas Athwal's Rental Properties

Labour MP Jas Athwal has publicly apologized after tenants in his rental properties reported living conditions including black mould and ant infestations. Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the situation 'unacceptable' and emphasized that it is crucial for Athwal to take swift remedial action. Athwal, who owns 15 residential and three commercial properties, admitted to being unaware of the severity of the issues, expressing anger towards the management agency previously in charge. Following a BBC investigation that revealed deteriorating conditions in several flats, Athwal has terminated ties with the agency and promised to reimburse tenants for incurred repair costs. He also plans to conduct a survey to ensure all tenant issues are addressed. Starmer has not ruled out the possibility of disciplinary measures if the problems are not resolved promptly.
