Instacart CEO Transition Set for August 2025
Instacart has announced that Chief Business Officer Chris Rogers will become its new CEO, effective August 15, 2025, succeeding Fidji Simo, who is leaving to lead OpenAI Applications but will remain chair of Instacart's board. Rogers, who joined Instacart in 2019 after executive roles at Apple and Procter & Gamble, has overseen commercial operations including retailer relationships, ad sales, and mergers & acquisitions. Simo is credited with taking Instacart public in 2023 and cementing its post-pandemic growth. The company emphasized that Rogers's promotion signals continuity in strategy, focusing on technology-driven solutions for retailers, consumers, and advertisers. Rogers has highlighted his commitment to maintaining Instacart’s vision, strengthening partnerships, supporting flexible earnings for shoppers, and driving innovation in grocery technology. The leadership transition is designed to ensure stability as Instacart grows within the grocery and e-commerce sectors.
