Lismore City Council Releases Annual Report

Lismore City Council has published its State of the City Report and 2023/04 Annual Report, highlighting a successful recovery and growth phase after the 2022 natural disasters, including a record funding agreement with the NSW Government to rebuild around 100 roads and bridges. This funding not only demonstrates governmental confidence in Lismore's recovery but also establishes streamlined processes for critical infrastructure funding. The Council's efforts led to a significant reduction in Development Application processing times, boosting local business activity and increasing CBD occupancy to 76.8%. Additionally, Lismore has gained international recognition from Qantas Travel Insider as one of the ‘Coolest Places to Visit in 2024’. Mayor Steve Krieg emphasized the Council's role in fostering a resilient community, with a 16% rise in Gross Regional Product and a 4.7% increase in active businesses since 2021.
