UCF to clean up Cocoa Beach

On International Coastal Clean Up Day, students from the University of Central Florida participated in a beach cleanup at Cocoa Beach, collecting cigarette butts and microplastics to raise environmental awareness. In Cameron, local residents organized a similar cleanup effort along the coastline, demonstrating community commitment to environmental stewardship. Meanwhile, in Rio de Janeiro, volunteers utilized canoes to gather trash from the water, emphasizing global participation in World Cleanup Day activities. A group of 30 volunteers from Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala conducted a cleanup on Alappuzha beach, collecting waste for municipal disposal. In Mira Bhayandar, over 3,000 volunteers cleared more than 37 tonnes of trash from local beaches, highlighting the growing issue of coastal pollution. These events collectively showcase a strong community response to environmental challenges and a commitment to maintain clean coastal areas.
