Man Sentenced for Abortion Drug Assault and Miscarriage

Stuart Worby has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for causing a pregnant woman to miscarry by secretly spiking her orange juice with abortion drugs mifepristone and misoprostol. The victim, who was 15 weeks pregnant, suffered a severe physical reaction and miscarried the next day at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Prosecutors described Worby's actions as 'deliberate, well-planned, and callous,' noting that he was assisted by Nueza Cepeda, who procured the drugs under false pretenses. The victim expressed profound grief and a fear of infertility, stating that 'being a mother was a dream.' In addition to the jail sentence, Worby was ordered to pay £10,000 in compensation and is indefinitely barred from contacting the victim. Cepeda received a suspended sentence for her role, while Wayne Finney, another accomplice, was acquitted of related charges.
