Axelsen, An Se-young Triumph at India Open

Viktor Axelsen and An Se-young emerged victorious in the men's and women's singles events at the India Open Super 750 badminton tournament. Axelsen, a two-time Olympic champion, defeated Hong Kong’s Lee Cheuk Yiu 21-16, 21-8 to claim his third India Open title, equaling the record set by Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei. Despite recent struggles with injuries and motivation, Axelsen expressed that the win was particularly special. In the women's singles, world number one An Se-young dominated Thailand's Pornpawee Chochuwong 21-12, 21-9, securing her second consecutive title this year. Additionally, the Malaysian pair Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin won the men's doubles, while Japan's Arisa Igarashi and Ayako Sakuramoto took the women's doubles title. The mixed doubles saw China's Jiang Zhen Bang and Wei Ya Xin triumph over the French pair Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue.
